Disposition of Materials
Unless otherwise instructed by advertiser, ad materials submitted will be held for one year from date of last printing, then destroyed.
Premium Positions
- Covers and premium positions are noncancelable.
- The IUPAT Journal reserves the right to give a better (farther forward or higher price) position than specified at no increase in rate.
- Premium position requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. However, no guarantee is made unless the preferred premium position has been specified in the contract.
Payment Policy
All first-time advertisers must submit payment with artwork. Purchase orders are not acceptable for first-time advertisers. All invoices must be paid within 30 days of the invoice date. Any overdue invoice may be referred to a collection agency. The expense of any collection activity shall be borne by the delinquent advertiser and shall include: court costs, attorney fees and costs, and assignment costs. Advertisers who do not pay an invoice within 90 days will void their contract and will be rebilled for all ads at the one-time rate with no agency discount. Advertiser has final responsibility for all payments. In the event that the agent (whether paid or otherwise) fails to pay the amount owed (for any reason), it will remain the responsibility of Advertiser to settle the account. Past Due amounts will be subject to a service charge of 11⁄2% per month. Credit: Initial advertising orders must be pre-paid unless credit has been established with Publisher.
Frequency Discounts: based on the number of insertions within a 12-month period.
Short Rates: Advertisers will be short-rated if, within a 12-month period, they do not use the amount of space upon which their billings have been based.
Rebates: Advertisers will be rebated if, within a 12-month period from the first insertion, they have used sufficient additional space to earn a lower rate. Rebate will be in the form of deduction from final billing.
Cancellation: A contract (except for covers and premium positions) may be canceled with 30 days prior written notice without penalty, in which event the rate will be adjusted to reflect the actual number of insertions. A $1,500 cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations received after the closing date stated in the Rate Card.
Agency Commission
15% of gross billing allowed to recognized agencies on space, color, position and fees only if account is paid within 30 days. In the event of non-payment, Publisher reserves the right to hold advertiser and/or its advertising agency jointly and severally liable for such monies as are due and payable.

All rates are based on the provision of required materials. There will be an additional charge for alterations, extra camera work, designing, layout, and/or typesetting.
